"It Chapter 2"~Sinisterly Done and Stays Afloat *Spoiler Free*

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

It Chapter Two (2019) is a highly anticipated sinister sequel to the first chapter. Pennywise has returned to wreak havoc once again causing our heroes to return once more. Follow the Losers Club as they attempt to save Derry. Read here for this SPOILER FREE review!

This film hasn't quite received the critical acclaim of the first. Things you can't say are bad in this film is the acting. The adult versions of the Losers are all perfect fits. Most of all is Bill Hader. He is the older Richie. Everything about his performance is a perfect replica of how the character is supposed to be. I'm not kidding when I say an Oscar nomination could be on his way.

The rest are fine too including Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy. I want to point out the importance of Stan (Andy Bean from Swamp Thing). Without giving anything away, he may seem insignificant, but he possibly played one of the most important roles for the losers.

Also, I'd be remiss not to mention Peter Skarsgard as Pennywise. He is still the impeccable choice and doesn't miss a beat.

Let's be blunt. It's not as good as the first film. The overall story is better in the movie and the book. Reasons I agree with most people on this is the storyline. It seems the horror scares are more prevalent. The characters seemed to have already reached their climax progression in the first movie, so there isn't much leeway.

The whole middle section is them wandering around trying to remember everything. My point is this. If your favorite part of the movie is the gore. You're in for a great time. When they said it has the most blood in a scene, they were not lying. Trust me on that one. If you're here for the story, lower expectations a little, and you'll be happy.

I'm delighted to have seen both chapters, and I recommend viewing them. My movie rating for It Chapter Two is a B-.
