Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story is not usually listed among the giants of comedy, but I've seen it 6 times at this point, so what does that tell you? No Spoilers below.
STORY: Average Joes Gymnasium is being foreclosed unless they fundraise $50,000 fast. Their only chance is to compete in the national dodgeball tournament, but they need a lot of help.

A $23 million budget (that's small) makes over $120 million in theaters, so that's a win. It's thanks in part to the likes of Ben Stiller. His character, White Goodman is the eccentric owner of Globo Gym. Basically, it's the opposite of Planet Fitness. The best family-friendly way to describe him is as a tool. A funny Goodman line includes "I know you. You know you. And I know you know that I know you." Now imagine that with Ben Stiller using a stupid voice. I promise it's hilarious. Also, his interactions with his right-hand man Me-Shell are humorous.

The whole gang of Average Joe's are decent characters. Vince Vaughan leads the group as our leading role. There's a guy who thinks he's a pirate, a high school loser, two down on their luck gym employees, a middle-aged man, and finally lawyer Kate Veach (Christine Taylor). She's our leading lady and does a good job.

Something you should remember when watching this movie is to listen closely to the random kooky one-liners. They're scattered throughout and very entertaining. Patches O'Houlihan played by the late Rip Torn has many of these lines. However, remember that his character is meant to be offensive, so a multitude of his lines are such.
