This article isn't an in-depth study but an overview on why you should consider watching:

Daredevil (2015-2018)

Three Seasons

Made by Netflix

Watch on Netflix

The above information is accurate as of this writing. This fantastic show was developed by Netflix, but Disney has taken over nearly all phases of Marvel media exclusively. Disney liaisons have stated they will continue "the man without fear", but will it be the same? I certainly hope so, but I'm not sure. Even if it doesn't, the way season 3 ended... was exceptionally done! The point is that this show is worth it no matter what. This is the BEST superhero television program, and that's the truth!!!

➡️ STORY: A blind lawyer runs a law firm by day and is a vigilante by night. His name is Matt Murdock who seeks to save Hell's Kitchen of NYC as Daredevil.

➡️ CHARACTERS: Charlie Cox as Murdock is divinely wonderful casting. What could've ruined the role early on is if he couldn't act like a blind man. That's kind of the shtick. His freak blinding accident led to his otherworldly heightened senses.

The exceptional aspect of Cox's performance is his vigilante persona versus lawyer Matt Murdock. Matt is a kind man who gave up a high paying offer from a huge law firm to start his own for the common man. The vigilante Daredevil is tough and ruthless. He only hurts atrocious people and won't kill them, but he'll send them to the hospital for weeks.

If Daredevil wasn't a Marvel show, I believe Cox would've received a nomination probably in season 2 (although he's worthy in all 3). The same can be said for the show too. Critics see that it's about superheroes, and they're afraid to pull the trigger. Seriously, it's not just the best hero show but one of the best dramas on TV.

I think most MCU fans put Loki on top of the antagonist mountain. I'm not going to dispute that. However, who takes home the silver? Between all Marvel movies and shows, Wilson Fisk is next. This is Vincent D'Onofrio's premiere role. He'll look back on this character and feel proud of his work. It bewilders, befuddled, and dumbfounds me that he didn't WIN an Emmy or Golden Globe in season one (2015). Not to mention he wasn't nominated. Here's the matter, critics *Praised his performance and many said he should win. Where were they when it came time?

He's as deep and complex a character as they come. We learn so much about him, and you even emphasize. Whenever a show makes you emphasize with a murderous Kingpin, that's solid writing. I really can't say much more about him without ruining major plot points, so please take my word for it.

Next up is Deborah Ann Woll as Karen. Once again, a primetime nomination here was warranted but not obtained. Karen may have the most diverse character arc of anybody here. Much happens to and around her that adjusts her personality as the show progresses. Also, Elden Hensen as Foggy Nelson is notable.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, but once again someone should have WON for Daredevil. On the rise actor, Jon Bernthal, gives an outstanding performance in season two. If this exact performance on the rooftop (you'll know it when you see it) appeared in Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad, everyone would have voted for it. We firmly maintain this statement.

In addition, Wilson Bethel as Bullseye in season three is a strange yet somehow perfect casting choice. Congratulations to the casting director on this show. There are so many fantastic performances that I almost forgot about Scott Glenn as Stick. Wow!

➡️ STUNTS/ACTION: Every fight scene is epic and fairly realistic. Daredevil has many advantages, but super strength isn't one of them. He has to beat them up thoroughly. The stuntmen were impressed with Charlie Cox calling unsuspectingly strong. Each season has one scene in particular that makes you rewind and watch it again. In season three, they take it up a notch by making it a one-take. I'm a sucker for those, and this one is awesome.

➡️ THEMES: Daredevil explores a plethora of themes in his short tenure. Love, friendship, doubt, shaken faith, and corruption are just to name a few. One of the more interesting motifs involved is a blurred line on Daredevil's vigilantism. Sure, he won't kill someone, but he'll put them in a coma with dozens of broken bones. Is there a boundary?

If you're an MCU fan, watch this show! There is so much more to say but not enough time. It's amazing and better than the majority of marvel entries. I promise. Check out episode 1 tonight!
