So... The Green Hornet (2011) is a movie that divides people.Audience and critic scores hover a little under 50%, so it's the definition of a split. I'm not here to tell you that it's one of the best comedies, but it's not that bad. You'd be surprised what other movies I like less than this.
STORY: Britt Reid's father dies leaving his vast company to him. He teams up with his new friend Kato to fight crime.
The first thing that fans of the original program don't like is that this movie is a comedy. You should expect it when Seth Rogan is starring as Britt Reid AKA The Green Hornet. To be fair, it varies from his usual performances. The comedic style diverges from the likes of Pineapple Express or Superbad. It trades in much of the inappropriate or drug-related bits for others.
The coolest character is Kato. Jay Chou portrays him as a jack of all trades. The dude is a martial artist, mechanic, pianist, and more. The banter between him and Reid is hilarious, so the duo makes an interesting pair.
Also with Kato, each scene where time slows down for him is dandy. I wish I could do that. You'll need to see one of the scenes to know what I mean. That plus the fight scenes are fun to watch. The Black Beauty car is rightous too.
*Many of you will recognize Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) from Stranger Things. It's interesting seeing him in films from before his
If you're in the mood for some light-hearted, I just wanna watch something mood, I think this movie can be for you. In a good way, there's not much I need to say for The Green Hornet. My film rating is a B-.
