With infamous quotes including "Your mother was a hamster", "Your father smelt of elderberries!" and simply yelling "Nie!" at somebody, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) is a comedy classic. This low budget movie took on the normal cinema-goer and succeeded wildly. I watched this movie so many times with friends in high school I could probably quote the whole piece. Read here why, and spoilers may follow.

For a quick summation, King Arthur is gathering his knights of the round table to find the holy grail as ordained by God himself.

Tons of things are hilarious in this movie. As mentioned above, the film is very quotable. Young adult men across the country do it constantly with lines like "Run Away!", "It is the rabbit!" and "It's just a flesh wound!" I say these myself all the time as many close people I know can attest. The writing is about as dumb yet witty as can be. It's basically an awesome paradox. What can I say about directing? It is unique and no one besides Mel Brooks can match the style. The story itself is simple yet leaves tons of room for hilarious moments.

Killer rabbits, three-headed knights, holy hand grenades, and a giant wooden rabbit make for good comedy. However, I really enjoy the black knight scene. It is probably my favorite part of the movie.

Any "problem" you may have is wrong. It's all funny.

Overall, it's a classic comedy that everyone should watch. When you do, you'll understand so many more random quotes you probably hear on a weekly basis. I promise it's worth the watch. My movie rating is A+.
