Ant-Man (2015) was something we joked about being an actual live-action movie until it happened. I certainly didn't see how he would make an entertaining hero. Oh, how I was wrong. Read here for my rating! Spoilers may follow.

Paul Rudd is a sensational choice as Ant-Man. He brings the humor, heroicness, and more to the role that's necessary. I have always enjoyed his roles, so it is nice to see him in a big-time blockbuster. Other characters perform exceptionally well including Evangeline Lilly as Hope.

She brings the intimidation needed along with grace. Also, Michael Douglass does a fine job as Dr. Hank Pym. There is only one way they could have made Ant-Man a fantastic movie, and they found out that is a spy film. It makes complete sense for a hero who shrinks while improving strength.

The plot was interesting too. A small army of people like Ant-Man could terrorize anyone who is your enemy. In the wrong hands, it could be catastrophic. Another good point is what other live-action movie makes you care so much about an ant's death? That's impressive by itself.

I would be remised if I didn't mention Ant-Man's three friends made up of actors David Dastmalchian, T.I. and of course... the one and only Michael Pena. They honestly deserve more screen time as the movies progress. I can't think of side characters that I like more in the MCU, and I always love getting to hear Michael Pena explain past events. If you haven't seen this movie yet, seriously go watch it for the last part I just mentioned.

As far as negatives go, I don't really have much to say. Some may argue that not all jokes land, but you can't please everybody.

Overall, this is a quality film that's needed for your viewing pleasure. Watch this movie please. My movie rating is an A.
