1."Captain America: The Winter Soldier": Best MCU Film
Updated: Mar 11, 2020
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) lands at number one for our Marvel Cinematic Universe list! This sequel creates the perfect blend to craft a stellar movie. Read here what makes it so, and spoilers may follow.
Chris Evans as Captain America was and still is a fantastic casting choice. We will all be sad to see him go as his contract is ending after Avengers: Endgame (2019). The setup and plot of this movie works great. An espionage/on the run story following Captain America as he's framed as a Hydra agent is cool.
He with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) have superb chemistry, and the story with Bucky Barnes as The Winter Soldier is fascinating. He is threatening and makes you worry. The shot where he catches the shield is awesome. Sebastian Stan does a nice job with this character. Obviously, he's a sympathetic character since he is not in control.
The Hydra storyline has always been interesting, and it was done very well in this movie. S.H.I.E.L.D has been infiltrated for years including the highest level with Robert Redford's character. This changed things in the Marvel Universe. S.H.I.E.L.D went under because of this and billions of people almost die from air warships. Hydra truly crippled them, and it's a long road to recovery.
Everything in this cinema piece works together in harmony. Guess who directed this movie? It's the Russo brothers. These guys made this, Avengers: Infinity War (my number 2 pick), Captain America: Civil War (top 8), and now Avengers: Endgame. They know how to make a quality film, and they made the best two so far.
Negatives: No problems, so nothing here.
After a tough decision, this film is #1. My movie rating is A+.
